Nathan Fischl picked up the shutout in net and Kurtis Sollosy was in net for the Marlins. Each team had four minor penalties.

Donovan Hall also had two goals (1 PPG)  plus an assist while Joey MacDonald and Bryan Kauk also scored for Wynyard. Raymore’s scoring came on the power play from Tyrell Shulko and Cody Mapes. In the scorefest in Southey, the Raymore Rockets were down 3-0 to the Marlins before they erupted with five goals in six minutes and sixteen seconds to take a 5-3 lead. The final three goals of the game were scored by the Rockets in the third period to pull out a 13-9 victory. The story of the night was the nine point efforts from Tyrell Shulko who scored seven times (1 PPG) and had two assists and the one goal and eight assists from Josh Jordan. Just as impressive on the Marlins side was eight point effort by Pat Thompson-Gale who had four goals (2 PPG) and four assists. Barry is going through our statistics to see if we have had a seven goal scorer and where the nine points in one game fits in our history. He received one game for a game misconduct in the last ten minutes of a game and three games for leaving the bench for the purpose of fighting. As a result of that suspension, Strasbourg Maroons Coach Darrell Orban received a three game suspension.

We have a great race going for the Tyson Sievert Scoring Trophy….Pat Thompson-Gale from the Marlins leads the pack with 29 points in 11 games. He is followed closely by Kyle Ross from the Cupar Canucks who has 28 points including a league leading 18 assists in nine games, by Wynyard’s Brett Leffler, last year’s scoring champion, who has 27 points in 10 games and his fellow Monarch Bryan Kauk who has 27 points in 11 games. There have been 18 shorthanded goals as we have hit the halfway point of 40 games this year. The Bethune Bulldogs have scored the most shorthanded goals with 5. The Wynyard Monarchs and the Southey Marlins have four each. The Lumsden Monarchs have given up the most shorthanded goals with 5. The Wynyard Monarchs have given up 4. The Lumsden Monarchs have received the fewest minutes per game of penalties at 12.9 minutes. The Strasbourg Maroons at 14 minutes and the Southey Marlins at 16.1 minutes follow the Monarchs. Other statistics of note….the Wynyard Monarchs are a perfect 6-0-0 when playing at home and the Avonlea Arrows are a perfect 5-0-0 when scoring first.

We only have one game between now and the first weekend in January. The Avonlea Arrows are in Wynyard on Saturday, December 28th. We apologize for moving the Lumsden @ Bethune game from December 28th to January 18th. As much as we make the effort to keep the schedule as drawn up, circumstances arise and it is the last thing we want to do is move a game. Thank you for your patience. We will update all games in our main schedule.
